I can’t say I obsessively read Amish fiction. I’m fascinated with their culture, and even more so now that I live in an area that has more Amish than I’ve ever seen in my life. But I have read some Amish fiction, most particularly Beverly Lewis. I met her once a few years ago, she was doing a book signing at a Christian bookstore where I used to live. She was exceptionally nice (and looked 15 years younger than in her author bio picture!) I like reading her books, especially when I’m needing a book that doesn’t require me to think too much about what I’m reading; something that allows me to relax and rejuvenate.
The following are some Amish books by Beverly Lewis that I’ve enjoyed reading over the years.
*Note that these books may not be at the top of literary writing and not for everyone–they’re just books to read when you want something light, even if some of them don’t follow all the rules that the Amish live by.
