Every Wednesday, Aaron over at the Confusing Middle posts a one word prompt to ponder about and on Sunday write about. This week’s prompt is “Tattoo.”
I have mixed feelings with tattoos. I don’t think it was ever said out loud, but tattoos were largely frowned upon in my home. They made you look cluttered, gross, unsavory. They weren’t something tasteful people did.
On the other hand, there are certain tattoos that I like looking at. Literary tattoos always seem cool to me, and minimalistic tattoos in general. Ones that are small and out the way. If I have got one, I’d get the phrase “Not today” in cursive. It’s from Game of Thrones, when Arya is told “There is only one god and his name is Death, and what do we say to Death? Not today.” That always stuck with me and I’d like to have it with me for always. I probably won’t ever get it, but one will never know.
