The Last Bad Book

What was the last bad book you read? What didn’t you like about it?

I’ve read a few bad books lately. I finished reading Memphis by Tara Stringfellow. While I could see the story the author was trying to write about, it was hard to feel connected to it because the characters had very little depth or things that distinguished them from one another. Not only that, the characters and timeline kept going back and forth so much that it was hard to keep up what year we were supposed to be in. It kept going from 1945 to 2003 to 1995 to 1985 back to 2003 and even 2005. The disjointed story made me feel disjointed about liking it.

Runners Up:

  • Verity by Colleen Hoover
  • All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover
  • My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix (mixed feelings)
  • Layla by Colleen Hoover

Hmm…maybe this says something about Colleen Hoover if most of my disliked books in the last month has been by her?
