I finished up season 1 of This is Life with Lisa Ling. I remember some of the episodes back when we had CNN. There’s a few more seasons, maybe 5 more so I might work on those next. We came down to see my mom Thursday night and my husband went home last night so he could work on the yard—she had some bricks to edge our front flower bed and he wanted those laid out and looking nice. Our next project is getting a new fire pit set up in the back yard. I’m excited about seeing what our yard’s going to do.
Last night my mom and I watched an episode of Cheap Old Houses on Discovery. We’ve watched them before and I thought it was a neat show. They show 3 or 4 old houses that are under 150K that people can buy and renovate. They never buy the houses they just showcase the houses, then they go to a house in the area with similar structure and the owner shows how they updated the house to make it look like it used to. This episode was in Michigan and Illinois and one of the buildings used to be an old school house from 1895. It was very utilitarian and not something I’d renovate for me, but the woodwork and staircases were nice. The other houses were built in similar styles so this episode was a turn off. Still interesting though.
As far as books are concerned, I started reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson. I started it Wednesday or Thursday and I’ve got about 100 pages or so left. The story is interesting but the layout is a little different than what I’m used to.
The rocket launch to the moon is supposed to be today at 2:17 p.m. I might turn it on later to see what’s going on with that.
